It's Me! Hi!

Welcome! You probably at least know my name, but I'll introduce myself anyway. I'm Alivia Varvel. Let me help you with pronunciation if you're curious: Alivia is just like you think, Uh-livia. And Varvel isn't hard, I promise. It's pronounced just like Marvel. There you go.

Hi!

I was born and raised in Indiana, studied Criminal Justice at Ball State University, and also have little Digital Forensics and Data Analytics under my belt. I still live in Indiana and work in the intelligence field, which is the exact job I've always chased after.

When I'm not at my dream job, I'm at home probably watching YouTube and also very likely writing something. These days, it's mostly working on my novel (coming so soon), but I also spend a lot of time writing short stories or occasionally a poem or two.

Here is where I'll be sharing those pieces with you and also some ramblings about the writing process. A lot of you probably know that I've posted some work on Vocal, which you can find here. I love the readership I've gained over there, but since it's skyrocketed as of late, I wanted to have a place where I can truly call my work my own. I'll be cross-posting my works from Vocal on here, so look out for those very soon.

I mostly like to write about people - just real people going through real things that are usually very tough moments, but those are truly the most fun to write about, I think. You will occasionally find a spooky piece or two from me. I have to be in just the right mood for those, though.
